Historic Brookhaven is the residential neighborhood located at the area's core, and is sometimes simply referred to as Brookhaven. It has homes surrounding the Capital City Club ranging from $800,000 to $4,000,000. Other residential neighborhoods in the area include: - Ashford Park. Located north of Peachtree Rd. and west of historic Brookhaven.
- Brittany. Neighborhood located north of Lynwood Park.
- Brookhaven Fields. Located south of the Brookhaven MARTA station, this neighborhood has had many "tear downs" of the historic bungalows and replacement with McMansions.
- Brookhaven Heights. Small neighborhood that has seen a lot of teardowns.
- Brookhaven Village. Small neighborhood with a pond located between Drew Valley & Brookhaven Fields that was developed in the late 1990's.
- Cambridge Park. 200+ homes are located in this neighborhood that adjoins Silver Lake (38 acre lake).
- Danbury Parc. A new neighborhood approximately 2 miles south of Perimeter Mall in Brookhaven.
- Drew Valley. A large neighborhood located off Dresden Road across from Ashford Park.

- Hillsdale. A large neighborhood located off of North Druid Hills Rd., between Pine Hills and Brookhaven Heights.
- Keswick Village. Located west of Johnson Ferry Rd and north of Peachtree Blvd., this neighborhood is located around Keswick Park.
- Lynwood Park. A historically African-American neighborhood north of historic Brookhaven that has a substantial number of teardowns.
- Pine Hills. A neighborhood in both Fulton and DeKalb Counties (around East Roxboro Rd, south of the Target and Borders Bookstore).
- Sexton Woods. A neighborhood located east of Keswick Village, in Chamblee.
- Silver Lake Estates.
